Theresa Mary (Maret) Breen
Theresa Mary Breen, 90, was born on May 18, 1930 in San Francisco California, and passed away on February 18, 2021 in Yorba Linda California. She is survived by her son Michael and daughters Tere and Deborah, her three grandchildren Jennifer, Monica and Jonathan, and her two great-grandchildren Layla and Cruz Theresa married her husband, William Robert Breen on December 30, 1950 in Los Angeles California. They were married for 33 years until his death in 1982. She went back to work in 1964, when her youngest child started school. In 1973, she began working for the Los Angeles County Office of Education located in Downey California. She worked there for 23 years starting in the mail room, and ending her career there in Data Control, retiring in 1995. She was very crafty and artistic. She often took adult night classes in landscape painting and flower arranging. She made many arrangements for retirement parties and baby showers, at her job. She volunteered on weekends at the L.A, County Arboretum working with the fresh plants and flowers. She liked to crochet, and often had a bag of different yarns in her car. She made baby blankets for all three grandchildren.She sold her house in 1989 and bought a mobile home in Hacienda Heights. She lived there for 25 years. Once she retired, she worked at the polling place located at the mobile home park for every election. Later on, once she had trouble with her mobility, she voted in both the 2016 and 2020 elections by mail. She grew up as a Catholic, and raised her children as Catholics. She later started attending Calvary Chapel in Norwalk, but when she moved to Hacienda Heights she joined The Church of the Nazarene. It was a small church where she knew all the members. She joined the WOW (Women of the Word) and took minutes at their meetings. They had weekend retreats and day field trips. She and her best friend, Ruthy Jack were both retired and were very active organizing the activities. She attended that church for 25 years until she moved to a senior apartment in Anaheim. She loved her family and friends and loved to send and receive greeting cards. She is predeceased by her four siblings Reba, Helen, Harry and Ismena; her husband William, and their two daughters Paula and Cindy.
