Rita Virginia Galaz

Rita Virginia Galaz, 73, of Anaheim, passed away Monday, August 8, 2022. Rita liked to read, travel, and loved eating Marshmallow Peeps. She was smart and passionate about education. Rita graduated from Mater Dei High School in 1967. She returned to college when her kids were young to obtain her Associate of Arts Degree from Cypress Community College. She was proud of her work as a nurse and as a teacher’s aide.

Rita is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Anthony Galaz and Ericka Barragan; daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Matthew McBurney; sister and brother-in-law, Monica and Ruben Mendez; four grandchildren; and many devoted nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at St. Justin Martyr Church, Anaheim on Thursday, August 25, 2022, including a Viewing at 10:00 a.m. and Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, Orange.
