Passcode: 766569Rheta Louise Shea, age 88, passed peacefully in her sleep on March 10, 2023, joining her beloved son, Dale, her parents, Terry and Esther Jain, and a number of dear friends who preceded her in death. The second of three girls, she was born in the family farmhouse in rural Kansas on June 14, 1934. Her father had just come in from milking the cows and he said she “just swished into the world.”
Rheta was a talented seamstress, sewing not only for herself and her family, but also for friends, roadshows, dance festivals, and even costumes for a community theater. Even her daughters’ Barbie dolls were blessed with her intricate creations. She was also an avid reader and Genealogist. Rheta was known and loved throughout our entire neighborhood because of her many years as The Avon Lady.
No one could have been a more loving and faithful caregiver to her son, Dale. Through all of his struggles she made sure he was well cared for and that he was never alone. Her roles as a wife, mother and grandmother were ones she treasured to the fullest.
She was truly a righteous daughter of our Heavenly Father. A woman of prayer, her strength came from her deep faith. The strength of her faith and testimony helped to solidify the foundation for many.
Left behind are her loving husband, Ed, her 2 daughters, Rheta (Murry) Jensen and Teresa (Ed) Williams, 9 Grandchildren, and 25 Great Grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Betty Seltmann and Mona Short.
