Garden Grove, CaliforniaWith heavy hearts we bid farewell to our father, Jose G. Marquez, who departed from this world on July 24, 2024, at the age of 90 years old. Our father immigrated to the US in December 2002, and resided at 571 S. Gilmar St. Anaheim, Ca. where he took his last breath surrounded by his family. A pillar of strength and love, his absence leaves a huge void in our hearts. He brought immeasurable joy and light into our lives with his kind heart, and radiant smile. The depth of love and happiness he shared will forever remain in our hearts. Surrounded by his loving family and friends in his final moments, he was a man of wisdom, cherishing every moment spent with his loved ones, and his spirit will forever be remembered. He is survived by his wife Lourdes Marquez, his 5 children, 11 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren, who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest.
We are forever grateful to our two younger siblings, Alvin Marquez and Rowena Marquez, for the love and extended care they gave to our Tatay. Although we siblings, took turns in taking care of our Tatay during his last days, my two youngest siblings spent a lot of time so that he could be taken care of properly. Special thanks to Arlet Marquez as well, for providing the care our Tatay needed for many years, for her patience in providing daily services such as feeding, bathing him, and giving him his medications.
To commemorate his remarkable life and the memories we cherish, a Visitation service will be held at Saint Anthony Claret Church in Anaheim, California on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm where friends and family are invited to remember a life that was truly a gift to us all. Interment service will follow on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at the Christ Cathedral in Garden Grove, California. There will be a funeral mass which starts at 10:00 am followed by a burial at the Christ Cathedral Memorial Garden where his body will be laid to his final rest. We welcome all who knew him to join us in celebrating the life of a man who was loved deeply and will be missed.
Tatay, thank you for teaching your children how to be good people, thank you for your smile, your wisdom, your guidance, and most of all, thank you for being a good husband to your wife and a good father to your six children. This is not a goodbye, I would say, until we meet again. We love you Tatay."*" indicates required fields
