Gustav H. Popke

Gustav Popke, 90, was born November 26, 1931 in Sophienwalde, West Prussia, Germany. He passed away peacefully on October 13, 2022 in his home in Anaheim Hills, California. He is survived by his three children, nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Gustav immigrated to the U.S. in 1953.  He served in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Korean war. He was married to his wife, Ingrid, for 44 years.  He became a fireman for the City of Anaheim in 1956, serving as Anaheim Fire Captain from 1966 to 1984. Gustav loved God and always made family matters important.  He loved sports, travel, camping and gardening.  He was mindful to help his relatives and friends.  He faithfully attended church and contributed his time and resources to many different charitable organizations.
