Fullerton, CaliforniaAt Kindred Brea Hospital, Eugenio R. Planas, a resident of Placentia, California, departed peacefully.
Eugenio was born and raised in Marinduque, Philippines. At the Philippine College of Arts & Trades (PCAT), which is now known as the Technological University of the Philippines (TUP), he earned a Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering. Eugenio began working as a merchant marine after graduating and rose through the ranks over the course of 33 years to become chief marine engineer.
A loving husband, devoted father and grandfather, Eugenio leaves behind his wife of 55 years, Loreta Planas, his 4 children Jane (Jess), Jojo (Aileen), Jonnah (Ena), Jerry (Gladys) and 8 grandchildren - Kevin, Joshua, Gerard, Justin, Jean, Bianca, Bui and Korbin.
Eugenio was the fifth child of the late Primitivo & Anacleta Planas. The devoted siblings of Eugenio, Dorothea P. Paez, Rosario P. Rogel, Paterno R. Planas, Cirila “Lilay” P. Murillo, Primo R. Planas, Gloria P. Murillo, Imelda P. Penaverde, Vinancio R. Planas, Manuel R. Planas, and Diosdado R. Planas.
A man with a few words. Eugenio is a hard worker and convergent thinker who shows affection through his serenity, labor, and accomplishments. He has a passion for getting things done and is a fundamental maestro in Engineering. He is a true family man, an excellent provider to his partner, and most importantly, has an incredible attitude toward life. Eugenio left a legacy of warmth, kindness & humility that affected the lives of countless people. His unshakeable character will live on in memory forever. Family & friends are invited to attend the viewing service on Friday, October 4 at 4-8PM at Hilgenfeld Mortuary in Anaheim. Liturgy of the Mass on Saturday, October 5 at 10AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church at Placentia, with Burial to follow at Loma Vista Memorial Park in Fullerton, CA."*" indicates required fields
