Private IntermentCheryl Lynn Scott was born on May 29, 1956 to Bernice McTaggart and Robert Wilson in Long Beach, California. She was the only child in that union. She leaves behind two half-sisters, Stacey and Vicki from her father's side and two half-brothers, John and Richard from her mother's side.
Cheryl grew up in Long Beach where she graduated from Jordan High School in 1974. She attended Long Beach City College and graduated with an associates degree in business in 1980. Cheryl loved to water ski, snow ski, take trips to the river with friends, and attend rock concerts. Cheryl married Ronald Garland and together they had three children, Tiffany, Ashley and Kimberly. Although their marriage ended in divorce several years later, Cheryl began her professional career with her then husband by establishing Emerald Coast Towing.
In 1996 she met her future husband, Russell Scott, who also had a son, Russell Jr. After dating many years, they bought a house together in Anaheim, California where everyone was united as a family. Cheryl and Russell married in 2017 and spent 25 years together building the life they wanted, growing their business Russell’s Towing, achieving many awards, and successfully gaining multiple contracts throughout the cities in southern California. Cheryl and Russell really enjoyed each other's company and traveling to Lake Havasu, New York, Lake Tahoe, Reno, and Las Vegas. In 2012, Cheryl saw the birth of her first grandchild Maleigha, followed by her second grandchild Madelyn in 2021.
Cheryl was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and grandmother. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She loved to shop, have lunch dates with friends. She enjoyed traveling, hiking, and walking her fur babies. She also enjoyed going to the beach or lounging by the pool. She was an amazing person inside and out. She would do anything for anyone. She always made sure that everyone was included and having a good time. She fought a long seven-year battle with cancer but never gave up. Cheryl was called to eternal rest on September 18th 2022 and will be truly missed by all who knew her.
Cheryl leaves to cherish her memory a loving husband of 25 years Russell Scott, her father Robert and stepmother Judy, her step sisters Stacey and Vicki and her stepbrothers John and Richard. Her daughters Tiffany, Ashley and Kimberly, her stepson Russell Jr., and two grandchildren Maleigha and Madelyn. She will be eternally missed by her relatives, as well as the many friends she touched throughout her life. Cheryl is preceded in death by her mother Bernice."*" indicates required fields
