William “Bill” Emelio Alden, a generous family man, entrepreneur, and friend to many, passed away with family by his side on December 27, 2024, at the age of 76. Born on August 2, 1948, to Paul and Catherine Alden, Bill grew up in the vibrant Bay Area, where he developed a strong work ethic and an entrepreneurial spirit that would define his life.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Melody Valdez-Alden; his six children, Jim, Denise, Tiffany, Derek, Eric, and Savanah; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and his beloved Aunt Annette Maggiora, sisters Deborah Hurley, Donna Carges, and Paulette Bennett. His warmth, generosity, and sharp wit left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him.

As a young man, Bill worked in a bakery, mastering skills that proved invaluable when he was drafted into the U.S. Army. His resourcefulness and dedication carried him through this chapter of his life and continued to shape the path he followed afterward.

Bill’s entrepreneurial journey began with a successful construction business before he transitioned to the limousine manufacturing industry in the 1990s. His passion for innovation and craftsmanship earned him recognition in his field. Later, his love for billiards inspired him to own and operate several pool halls and sports bars, where he could often be found challenging friends to a game of 9-ball and sharing stories over a cigarette.

Family, friends, and loved ones are invited to honor Bill’s life at a viewing and rosary on January 14, 2025, from 4–7 p.m. at Hilgenfeld Mortuary in Anaheim, CA. A funeral mass will be celebrated on January 15, 2025, at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony Claret Catholic Church in Anaheim, followed by a reception at his first pool hall, Shooters Riverside.

Bill lived a full and vibrant life, leaving behind a legacy of love, resilience, and joy. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
