Obituary:
On Thursday, November 14, 2024, Robert (Bob) Charles Krishfield passed away unexpectedly at the age of 84, in Anaheim, CA. Bob will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Bob was born on August 19, 1940, in Brockton, Massachusetts to George and Agnes Krishfield and raised in Holbrook. After graduating from high school, he joined the Navy ROTC and spent a year at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, before transferring and graduating from Illinois Institute of Technology. After graduation, he completed four years of service as a commissioned officer with the Navy. He was assigned to the USS Waddell and served in Vietnam. While in Long Beach, he met the love of his life at a dance, Jo Ann Tekstra. They wed in 1966, settling in Garden Grove and then Orange. They were married for 50 years and had two children, Karen and Steve.
After completing his Navy service, Jo Ann helped Bob get a job at Autonetics (part of Rockwell International and then Boeing), kicking off a 30+ year career in aerospace as an engineer. During this time, he also returned to school to receive a Masters degree in Systems Engineering from California State University, Fullerton.
In retirement Bob and Jo Ann traveled, often cruising the US, Caribbean, and Europe. Favorite spots also included national parks such as Yosemite, the Canadian Rockies, and leaf-peeping in his native New England. Bob enjoyed photography, his Apple devices, investing, and jazz.
In 2016, Bob and Jo Ann moved from Orange to Walnut Village Retirement Community in Anaheim. He pursued his lifelong love of music by joining their chorale as a bass, performing at their quarterly concerts, and occasionally at a Birthday Show. Bob loved being an active member of the Walnut Village Community.
Bob is predeceased by his parents, his wife, Jo Ann, and his sister, Carol Siegel. He leaves behind his children Karen and Steve, granddaughter Genesee, two great-grandchildren Jonny and Rosalina, his brother Donald Krishfield; his sister Phyllis Bezanson; 12 nieces and nephews, and many friends at Walnut Village."*" indicates required fields
