Cypress, CA 90630Ricardo “Rico” Salvador Perez, 55, of Anaheim, California, passed away on September 19, 2024.
Rico was born on July 16, 1969, in Anaheim, California, the son of Richard Perez and Antoinette Mendoza.
After graduating from Anaheim High School in 1987, he enlisted in the United States Army and served honorably from 1988 to 1991.
In 1991, Rico married his childhood sweetheart Monica Nunez at St. Boniface Church in Anaheim, California. They were married for 32 years and welcomed JoAnthony Perez in 1993, Justin Perez in 1996, and Jayleena Perez in 2001. Their first grandchild, Jaylah Perez, was born in 2023. Rico was a devoted husband, father, grandpa, uncle, and nino, always putting his family first and cherishing every moment spent with them.
Rico took an active role in the lives of his children, granddaughter, nieces, and nephews. He was always on the sidelines or in the stands at games/matches. Rico had an enormous heart and was generous. He was clever and full to the brim with knowledge gained through his life experiences. He will be remembered for all the heart he shared with his family and friends. He truly loved each of them—and if you knew him, you knew it. He will be missed dearly.
Remaining to cherish Rico’s memory are his wife, Monica Perez; his children, JoAnthony Perez, Justin Perez, and Jayleena Perez; his granddaughter, Jaylah Perez; his daughters-in-law, Delilah De Leon and Inez Perez; his brother, Anthony Perez; and sister, Jennifer Peckham.
Preceding Rico in death are parents Richard Perez and Antoinette Mendoza.
He will be remembered as a loving father, papa, brother, nino, uncle, brother-in-law, cousin, and friend. He has been a rock to many. There was so much more to him than just dad, though to us, that was his greatest role—he was also a friend, a colleague, a stand-in paternal figure to the fatherless, a handyman, a coach, and the list goes on and on.
Memorial Service will be held on October 2, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Hilgenfeld Mortuary Chapel. Graveside Service will be held afterward at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cypress.
