Vera Masciel

Vera Masciel, 86, of Anaheim, California passed away peacefully on February 12, 2023. She passed away just 7 days shy of what would’ve been her 87th birthday. Vera was born on February 19,1936 to Salvador and Elena Barba in the city of Hawaiian Gardens, California. She graduated from Excelsior High School in 1953 and shortly after met her soul mate, Louie Masciel at Harmony Park Dance Hall in Anaheim. Vera and Louie’s love blossomed and they married on November 14,1954. Over the years they went on to have three daughters; Helen Olguin, Loretta Negrete, and Debbie Corral. Vera was a skilled homemaker who took pride in motherhood, cooking and baking, and raising her family. Vera was a devoted grandmother to five grandchildren; Joe, Louie, Jessica, Corina, and Robert. She was blessed to not only be a Mother and Grandmother, but a great-grandmother to 8 great grandchildren, Luis, Bianca, Joseph, Jordan, Jacob, Matthew, Diego and Nico. Vera was predeceased by her husband Louie Masciel in 2015 and is survived by all 3 daughters, 5 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at St. Anthony Claret Church in Anaheim, California on February 28, 2023 with a viewing beginning at 9:30 am and mass at 11 am. Burial service will follow at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Orange, California.
