Sandra Lea Bennett
Beautiful and loving Mom, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and Friend born on April 26, 1958 in Long Beach, CA to parents John Everett Williams and Ernestine Martinez. She was 1 of 12 siblings raised in Garden Grove, Artesia, and Fullerton. Sounds like any typical start to a life story however her life was far from it. Sandra became a pillar of support for her family at a very early age. That same heart carried on for her family throughout her life. Anyone who knew Sandra knew she had a servant’s heart, always opening her heart and home for anyone who needed it because she knew firsthand what it was like to be in need. Sandra became a mother at the young age of 14 to her 1st blessing. She later found herself hanging out with her BFF Arlene in Fullerton off Truslow where she met Gilbert A Burns, her would be future-husband. Together they created 5 more beautiful daughters. Her family grew when her daughters grew up adding 14 amazing grandchildren who were Gammie’s pride and joy. Sandra faced life with strength and persevered no matter what the situation she was presented. With only a 6th grade education becoming a young mom helping raise her younger siblings went on to obtain her GED, graduated business college, and became a top certified phlebotomist at Humana hospital. There she met George T Bennett who was her patient and later became the love of her life and they spent their years together growing in love and serving the Lord. She was a two-time breast cancer survivor and let nothing stop her from doing or saying what she wanted. Sandra loved her family to no end and would give the shirt off her back and last piece of food to eat just so she could help another. Sandra was selfless to a fault always welcomed her brothers along with her nieces, nephews, friends and even co-workers whenever they needed. She gave even if she was struggling to make it, always finding a way to provide. Through the example of her life, she showed many how to give, how to cook, how to clean, how to provide, how to be a great mom, how to treat your husband, how not to be afraid of life, how to make something from nothing, how not to let anyone get you down and to never give up! A woman that will be greatly missed, who love unconditionally, and gave selflessly. She is survived by her daughters Heidi, Teresa, April, Jennifer, Appolonia, and her Grandchildren Joey, Hailey, Noah, Andrew, Anthony, Arianna, Adam, Olivia, Annabella, Denzel, Jaida, and Violet.
