Becky Areias – President
Becky Areias, the fourth generation descendent from Hilgenfeld Mortuary’s founder, Reverend Samuel Hilgenfeld, serves as president for the nearly century old business.
Becky began her career with Hilgenfeld at the age of 15 under the direction of her grandfather, Melvin Hilgenfeld. She has worked of her family business for more than three decades in various capacity and trained for her current position under the leadership of her mother Margie Hilgenfeld Field. Becky’s husband Jim and son-in-law Daniel Stiller are also active members of the management staff.
Following the example of those who came before her, Becky remains committed to providing compassionate, personal and professional funeral services to Anaheim and the greater North Orange County area. Her integrity and compassion to assist families during difficult times has made Becky an integral part of this community to create a positive memory to the families they serve.
Organizations throughout the community have benefitted from Becky’s generous donation of time and funds. She has served on the boards of numerous local organizations and is a key leader with the Cypress College Foundation, which supports the Cypress College of Mortuary Sciences.
Becky has received several accolades including awards from the Anaheim Chamber of Commerce, Anaheim Beautiful and the prestigious Cypress College Foundation Americana Award, which was also previously given to her mother, Margie Hilgenfeld Field.
Hilgenfeld Mortuary is proud to be one of Anaheim’s oldest businesses and intends to continue with the traditions set forth by Reverend Samuel Hilgenfeld when he opened in 1927.
